Mounts

Mounts are a much sought after form of transportation in which players ride atop the backs of various Bind on pickup creatures (or machines for gnomes, dwarves, engineers and extremely lucky people). Warlocks and paladins can summon their mounts with special spells. Mounted travel is faster than walking, and the Burning Crusade expansion introduced both new mounts and flying mounts.

Mounts are primarily a source of transportation in the game as well as a status symbol, the more expensive or rare the mount is the 'better' the player or the more work they have put into getting the mount.  There are land mounts, epic land mounts, flying mounts, epic flying mounts, and rare mounts.  For the purpose of this chat room the rare mounts require points to get.  Mounts in the chat room will move at the same rate of speed such as land/ground mounts with move the same whether epic or otherwise and flying mounts will be the same speed increase as well.  Any trinkets or devises excluding a pally's crusader aura must be bought with points as well.  For more information on points and how to earn and spend them see the Points page.

For information on mounts in general see http://www.wowwiki.com/Mounts

Land Mounts

Regular ground mounts in the chat room are not really viable as if you have an option to have a epic mount why settle for less? These mounts are used in game by characters level 30 to 60 when they can get their epic mount though if they can't afford one of course they use the regular. They are normally pretty cheap. Less than 50 gold. If however you do like the look of the regular mount better you can choose to have one, for purposes of fairness they would travel at the epic ground mounts rate of speed instead of the regular mounts.

Epic Land Mounts

The epic land mounts are the ones used in the chat room, these mounts (aside from the 'rare' ones) are an automatic for any character who wishes to roleplay in the room. In game they increase your speed by 100% while the regular mounts increase it by 60%. In the chat room it is more about preferance and style then anything else so choose as you wish. The list of rare mounts to be purchased are on the wow gcn chat room store mounts page.

Flying Mounts

In the game flying mounts are also only usable while within Outland. Which is specific to our chatroom because Shattrath City is in Outlands. Regular flying mounts increase movement speed by 60% on the ground and in the air. If you prefer the look of a regular flying mount the principle will apply the same as with regular ground mounts the movement speed will be the same to keep the rp chat fair and balanced.

Epic Flying Mounts

Same as with the regular flying mounts for the most part only the speed increase in game is from 60% to 250% there is a lot of arguement on forums and in game about moving the regular flying mounts speed to 100% at least but nothing as of yet has been said from the game creators as to if they'll take that into consideration.  Most of the epic flying mounts wear armor to further the look of a battle ready to player.

Rare Mounts

These mounts require points to use in the chatroom, they are listed on the WoW GCN RP Store - Mounts page as well as at the interactive picture below.  Mostly for show they are all valuable in game at least to the players.
